The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the correlation effect size between counselors’ countertransference management abilities and factors affectig the counselors’ countertransference management ability, by means of meta-analysis. 55 research studies were sampled. From these studies, the following results were derived. Firstly, the total effect size among the factors related to the counselors’ countertransference management ability was .390. This reweals an effect size higher than the mid-range. Secondly, the correlation effect size on the variables related to counselors’ countertransference management abilities’ sub factors was competence as a counselor variables (.527), psychological and personality (.322), social support (.206) and counseling experience variables (.178). Thirdly, the correlation effect size on the variables related to the counselors’ countertransference management abilities’ sub factors was counselor development (.652), state anxiety (.593), counselor self-efficacy (.548), and authenticity (.523). The data from this study can be used in a practical manner for the development of counselors’ countertransference management abilities through comprehensive analysis of individual studies on counselors’ countertransference management abilities and effective intervention plans and action plans. It is also useful in suggesting possible future directions in subsequent research.
