Out-of-home care children, compared to general children, could be more vulnerable to recent environmental changes, such as the increase of fine dust because they would lack of individualized care and beneficial resources. However, there has been no research that examined the impacts of fine dust on children’s developmental outcomes including out-of-home care children. This study investigated long-term impacts of fine dust on psychological and emotional development among children in out-of-home care. As results, the children in the regions where fine dust was heavier showed more negative outcomes in self-efficacy, stigma, and depression/anxiety. Practice and policy implications to promote the children’s psychological and emotional development in the environmental risk of fine dust were discussed based on this study findings.
