The purpose of this study is to investigate of musical life, music function, and emotional regulation strategies as healing using music in everyday life, in oder to find out the possibility of using music as a self-psychological management program. A total of 370 data were analyzed by conducting a survey on those in their 20s or older. The survey tools were the music life, the function of music, and the emotional regulation strategy questionnaire using music. The research results are as follows. First, the general public prefer listening music the most, and there are differences according to age and occupational classification. Second, music was most often applied as an emotional function in everyday life, and there are differences according to age and occupational classification. Third, the general public applied the most enjoyment strategy through music, and there was a difference according to age and occupational classification. Fourth, as a result of text mining analysis of open responses, many words related to comfort and stability were mentioned for the meaning of music. This study shows that there are differences in musical activities, music function, and emotion regulation strategies using music according to each individual's characteristics. In addition, it can be said that it is meaningful in that it provided basic data for developing of a psychological management music program which considers individualized characteristics in daily life in situations such as a pandemic.
