초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural causal relationship between dementia awareness, dementia attitude, dementia prevention education needs, and dementia fear among physical education college students. To achieve the purpose of the study, a survey was conducted among physical education students at 8 universities, and 261 data were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, dementia awareness was found to have a direct significant effect on dementia attitudes, but did not have a significant effect on dementia prevention education needs and dementia fear. However, it was found to have an indirect significant effect on dementia prevention education needs through dementia attitudes, and on dementia fear through dementia attitudes and dementia prevention education needs. Second, dementia attitudes were found to have a direct significant effect on dementia prevention education needs and dementia fear. Third, dementia prevention education needs were found to have no direct significant effect on dementia fear. The results of this study will provide basic data for developing and teaching a professional and differentiated dementia education program suitable for college students majoring in physical education who will play an important role as professional exercise instructors in the dementia prevention and management field in the near future. In addition, the results of this study are expected to help find ways to reduce the fear of dementia and foster a positive attitude by identifying factors that affect dementia fear among physical education majors.
