초록

Pansori is the essence of popular art which was developed in the late Chosun dynasty. Unlike in the past when people had to hide their own emotions under the pressure of strict status system, people started expressing their own emotions in the late Chosun dynasty. This resulted from the realization of rulling class about the artistic accomplishment of ordinary people. As the public sentiment made into art, pansori became completed and the understanding and involvement of rulling class helped it to become more popular as a national art. The early form of pansori was scattered all over the regions and later it was concentrated in Honam area. Inevitably, it went through the process of choice and elimination. In other words, the early Pansori, which consists stories and music based on their own regions, unified as the special region formation of pansori. Song, Heungrok played a huge role in this whole process. As it was unified in special region, Honam, it brought about the simplification of music and certain regularity of the world which pansori is aiming for. In the long term, the concentration of music into Honam area caused disappearance of the early form of pansori -which was based on musics of other regionsin pansori performance. Also, majority of pansori were about the pursuit of people mind and equality beyond regions and time. Like this, many pansori pieces once very popular in the early pansori history disappeared in a shock of the change of music and story and it only remained in the formation of pansori which was concentrated into Honam area. Although concentration and unification of Pansori led to the positive appraisal about the refinement and artistry of pansori, it also caused falling behind of abundant folk art since it eliminated regionalism and social conditions. Unification and decentralization is inevitable process for the development of any kinds. For these reasons, pansori is required to encompass precious musical assets from each regions ,which was eliminated in the history of pansori,and the aim of today.
