군인어머니의 자녀 양육 경험에 대한 탐색적 연구

초록

Military mothers occupy a dual role, simultaneously fulfilling professional obligations within the distinct military environment and assuming responsibility for child-rearing. Military mothers must navigate the competing demands of military service and child-rearing. This study employed a qualitative approach to explore their child-rearing experiences and the meanings they attach to them. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with ten military mothers and subjected to thematic analysis. The analysis identified four upper themes, thirteen lower themes, and thirty-five meaning units: ‘constraints of the parenting environment arising from the nature of military service’, ‘the double burden of work and parenting and the blurred lines’, ‘each person finds their own way to fulfill their role as a mother’, and ‘ongoing reflection on life’s direction as both a service member and a mother’. Based on these findings, the study proposes recommendations aimed at reinforcing the military family support system and cultivating a parenting-friendly environment within military organizations to better support military mothers in their parenting roles.
