The low-income class is the class who most desperately feels the blow of job loss when the economic situation worsens. The government operates a 'Job Success Package', a comprehensive employment service, to support low-income job search and employment. Low-income people who participated in the Job Success Package will receive a job promotion allowance for a certain period of time on the premise of active job search during the job search phase. The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of the job promotion allowance for low-income people who participated in the Job Success Package in 2020 and to propose a direction for the development of the job support policy for low-income people. We analyzed the data of low-income people who participated in the 2020 Job Success Package. We analyzed employment status, wages, and duration of employment by dividing the analysis targets according to the allowance status. The analysis results are as follows. First, the job promotion allowance for low-income households was found to be effective in whether the beneficiaries were employed or not among their employment performance. This can be attributed to strengthening participants' will and linking them to actual job search activities on the premise that allowances are not unconditionally given, but that they are actively seeking jobs at least twice a month. Second, the employment promotion allowance for low-income households was not found to have a positive effect on wages and shorter period of employment. Based on these analysis results, we proposed a direction for employment support policies of the government to support low-income families to participate in the labor market.
