This study aims to identify the mediating effects of self-identity and career identity in the relationship between parental neglect, peer attachment and life satisfaction among high school students. This study explores the factors that are influential to the life satisfaction of high school students, and seeks effective methods to enhance self-identity and career identity by intervening adequately parental neglect and peer attachment in order to improve their life satisfaction. This study used the data in wave 5 of Korean children and youth panel survey (2014) of the National Youth Policy Institute and the final analysis subjects were a total of 1027 students in second grade of high school. We used descriptive statistical analysis to identify characteristics of variables. And also we conducted the three-step regression analysis by baron and Kenny (1986) to verify the mediating effects of self-identity and career identity in the relationship between parental neglect, peer attachment and life satisfaction of high school students. The data processing of this study was carried out by IBM SPSS statistics 21.0. The major findings and conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the less neglected by parents and the better attachments with peers, the higher the life satisfaction among high school students is. Second, the less neglected by parents and the better attachment with peers, the higher self-identity and career identity are. Third, the higher self-identity and career identity among high school students, the higher their life satisfaction is. Lastly, parental neglect and peer attachment appear to be influential to the life satisfaction among high school students by the medium of self-identity and career identity.
