This study uses text network analysis to examine humanities-technology convergence support programs over the past 20 years in five countries—South Korea, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and China. Based on the findings, the study derives common strategies and national characteristics to propose directions for the development of convergence research in Korea. Existing research has not sufficiently compared convergence activities across nations, nor has it employed analytical approaches beyond the Triple Helix model—which primarily focuses on the roles of universities, industries, and governments. In response, this study introduces a new concept of innovation through three interconnected pathways: university-technology, industry-market, and government-humanities. By analyzing these five countries that have actively conducted convergence research and provided funding, we examine how their efforts have influenced both convergence studies and government support. The results indicate that humanities-technology convergence drives social change and innovation, offering useful implications for developing convergence-friendly environments, securing funding, enhancing collaboration, and promoting multidisciplinary research to advance technology and solve complex problems. However, this study has certain limitations: it lacks a thorough empirical evaluation of policy effects and highlights the need for better convergence performance indicators, necessitating further in-depth research. As multidisciplinary research in this area continues to grow, we anticipate an expansion of research topics focusing on industrialization and market trends, alongside increased government funding. These efforts will ultimately enhance national added value and spur economic growth.
