This study verifies the mediating effect of career adaptability on the relationship between work volition and the perception of decent work among college students, and uses the findings as basic data for career guidance and education programs for students. To achieve that purpose, convenience sampling was conducted among university students taking general education courses at universities in the metropolitan area. A total of 217 students participated, and data collection was conducted from April to May 2024. To measure the variables, scales for work volition, career adaptability, and definitions of decent work were used. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN and AMOS 25.0; descriptive statistics were summarized, with correlation analysis and SEM analysis conducted. The main results of the study are as follows. First, work volition, career adaptability, and perceptions of decent work showed statistically significant positive correlations. Second, work volition had a significant positive effect on perceptions of decent work, mediated by career adaptability. This study suggests that enhancing college students' work volition and career adaptability can positively influence their perceptions of decent work. Therefore, universities should provide career guidance and educational programs that offer practical support to help students actively develop their career paths.
