The purpose of this study is to understand American student-atlhetes’ cognition of school education program and NCAA educational policy to provide better understand Korean student-athletes and Korea sport policy. The current study utilized a depth interview by 15 semi-rsutctured interviews with student-athletes who were participating in NCAA tournament were selected. The partiicpants involved various sports backgrounds such as football, basketball, swimming and track & field athleets. Through this study, we identified that wellestablished school education programs and the NCAA policy positively influenced American student-athletes’ education necessity. Based on the results, we suggest that first; student-athletes need to recognize the importance of academic as a student. Second, establishing effective policies that secure student-athletes educational rights are recommended. Lastly, it is necessary to create school educational programs that give directions to student-athletes in order to help their future after graduation.
