A Study on Trust, Organizational Commitment, and Job Insecurity among Assistants of National Assembly Members

초록

This study investigates the effects of trust in National Assembly members, trust in fellow assistants, and trust in the institutional system on organizational commitment among Assistants of National Assembly Members, and examines the mediating role of institutional trust as well as the moderating and moderated mediation effects of job insecurity. Using survey data from 202 Assistants of National Assembly Members working for the National Assembly Secretariat, the study analyzed the relationships among the variables. The results show that trust in National Assembly members, trust in fellow assistants, and trust in the institutional system are positively associated with organizational commitment, whereas job insecurity is negatively associated with organizational commitment. Institutional trust partially mediates the relationship between trust in National Assembly members and organizational commitment, but no significant mediation effect is found for the relationship between trust in fellow assistants and organizational commitment. In addition, job insecurity strengthens the positive relationship between trust in National Assembly members and organizational commitment, while weakening the positive relationship between trust in fellow assistants and organizational commitment. These findings suggest that job insecurity is a critical factor in shaping organizational commitment among Assistants of National Assembly Members and that the effect of trust differs depending on the target of trust and the employment context.
