초록

This paper considers the meaning of the deformed bodyhood and the projection of the eugenic ideology that flood the Edogawa Ranpo’s novel “Demon of the isolated island”(1929～1930). What is identified there is the collusion of a twisted eugenic desire and commercialism. A representative example of this was male and female Siamese twins. Biologically, male and female Siamese can not exist in reality. Nevertheless, the artificial production of male and female Siamese twins by preoccupying eugenic knowledge symbolizes the disquiet of the text. Novels are causing a crack in the modernized system of institutional systems through the subversive idea of ​​developing the dissimilated body and the deformed body as commodities. However, the end of the novel returns to a familiar world, a stable structure. Despite the intrinsic possibility of overthrow, the novel does not violate the flow of normalization and stabilization. Nevertheless, the novel suggests the possibility of a genuine variant that does not converge to the modern inclusion and exclusion system through the existence of homosexual Moroto, which is more human than any other, and grotesque than anyone else. 本論文は江戸川乱歩小説『孤島の鬼』(1929～1930)に氾濫する奇形的身体性の意味と優生学の投影について考察した。そこで確認されたことは、歪んだ優生学的欲望と商業主義の不穏な結託であった。その代表的例が男女異性シャム双生児の存在である。生物学的に現実では有り得ない異性癒着身体を優生学的知識を先取して人為的に製造するという設定は、このテクストの不穏性を象徴するといえる。優生学によって異常身体として規定されたマイナー身体性の持ち主が自分を疎外した優生学を逆さまに利用して人為的に異常身体を製造し販売することは、<優生因子の拡散>と<劣性因子の消去>をスローガンとして掲げた優生思想の転覆的拡張と呼ぶにふさわしいものである。小説は異化した身体、変形した身体を商品として開発するという転覆的発想を基に近代の安定したシステムに亀裂をもたらすことに成功している。 ところが、小説の結末は再び慣れた世界、安定した構造へと回帰する。小説はそこに内在された転覆の可能性にもかかわらず、ついには正常化･安定化の流れに逆らうことはできない。しかし、だれよりも愛に充実した一方でだれよりもゴロテスクで境界的存在であった同性愛者、諸戸の存在性こそ、近代の包摂と排除のシステムに収斂されない変種の可能性をはみ出させているのだ。
