To investigate the effects of complex training and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (n3PUFA) supplementation on body composition and inflammatory marker in young overweight females. Thirty young overweight females were randomly assigned to three groups: Group I(placebo, 3.6 g/day, n=10), Group Ⅱ [n3PUFA(2.4g/day)+placebo(1.2g/day), n=10], and Group Ⅲ(n-3PUFA, 3.6g/day, n=10) along with complex training for 12 weeks. The complex training involved muscular resistance exercises(50 - 70% of 1RM, 3 - 4d/w, 3 - 20s/r) and aerobic exercises(40 - 75% of HRmax, 3 - 4d/w, 15 - 35min/d). All subjects were assessed before and after treatment for body weight, percentage body fat, and BMI and serum C-reactive protein(CRP) and leptin levels, and the results were statistically analyzed. Significant differences were noted for the mean values of BMI, body weight, and CRP among the three groups. Group Ⅲ had lower CRP levels and body weight as compared to both the placebo groups(p<0.05). The combination of complex training and n-3PUFA supplementation appeared to be important for altering body composition and levels of inflammatory markers in young overweight females.-
