dc.description.abstract | From the existing studies, it is not clear whether UN interventions have a tangible effect on the timing of recurrent civil war. This study assesses the extent to which different types of UN peace operations have affected the timing of the recurrence of civil war in the respective host states. I examine recurring civil conflicts over the period of 1944-1999, with attention to the effect of UN intervention on the timing of civil war recurrence and peace duration between civil wars. I conduct the duration study of civil war recurrence. The results demonstrate that UN peacekeeping interventions facilitate the duration of peace stability in the aftermath of civil war. | - |
