dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to investigate varying degree of early-children's movement and speed based on their age. The early-childhood development is very important and each development stage varies based on their age. There is a need to study the development of accelerating early-children's growth along with the rapid development of Korean economy and social change. The importance and effectiveness of walk, run, gallop, and skip varies for the each age group. This study is about importance, appropriateness, and effectiveness of movement types and speed for each age group. The study subject was teachers who had experience of movement and music related teaching children between 6 months and 3 years in age. The sample were divided into 1 year (0-12 months), 2 year (13-24 months), and 3 year (25-36 months) in their age category. The result suggests children in each age category shows different movement characteristics and requires different degree of necessity in various types of movements. For example walk and run development was faster in 2 year olds, and natural muscular control effectiveness was faster in 3 year olds. In general, gallop is considered appropriate for 3 year olds but the study indicates 2 year olds has higher effectiveness in gallop. According to the teacher utilizing music and movement together, the effectiveness of music was higher with the use of movement. For 2 year olds, effectiveness of music education increases with the use of movement in space. | - |
