- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise and supplementation of different glycemic index values of carbohydrate on the lipid lipoprotein and adipokine levels. A total of Twenty two young female adults participated in this study and classified into two groups. They performed aerobic walking programs on treadmill for 8 weeks. Health-related physical fitness factors measuring back strength, sit-up, trunk flexion and Harvard step test. TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, TG, CRP, TNF-⍺, IL-6 were measured before and 8 weeks of the program treatment. There was a significant difference on adipokine levels but there were no significant differences on lipid lipoprotein between two groups. TNF-⍺ was significantly associated with IL-6 (r=-0.89), muscular strength (r=-0.62), and IL-6 was significantly associated with muscular strength (r=-0.57). In conclusions, aerobic exercise program and supplementation of different glycemic index carbohydrate for 8 weeks may affect on adipokine levels but may not affect on lipid lipoprotein in young females.
