Abstract

The purpose of this study is to introduce the womens liveration movement and motherhood modernjapan, A issues such as the women's role and status in the society are emerging as a new perspectivein the humanities and social sciences. Influenced by the gend‘While it is commonly understood that social climate emphasizing the concept and usage of ‘maternalinstinct’ has been long/old in Japan, this concept of ‘maternal instinct’ appeared and discussed in amodern era/period. This is saying (in other words), it is generally understood that ‘maternal instinct’ is not an instinctiveelement, yet it was invented by times and circumstances. Also, a perception gap and conflict during the process of realization of ‘maternal instinct’ ultimatelybecame a fundamental limitation on women’s liberation movement. In 1930s, a period of Japan’s prompt militarization, feminists strongly asserted motherhood protection,and it is important to remember that as a result, it brought the outcome of supporting ‘maternal instinct’by country. Again, they achieved noteworthy result such as Motherhood Protection Law; however, while thismovement changed and promoted awareness of the State on this issue, it can be said that it blocked thejustification of women’s war collaboration. er studies.
