The students’ works represent the characteristics of educational canons that highly regard educational value as well as literary value. This paper invastigated Korean language and literary textbooks used in secondary schools according to 2009·2015 revised curriculums to check the current status and the subjects of students’ works and to analyze the tendency of them. As a result, this paper found that the students’ works deal with teenagers’ daily lives such as memories and conflicts with their families, relationships with friends, appreciation of nature and burden of tests and that the students’ works are used in terms of literary expression and writing, rewriting literary works and wit to arouse interests. Based on this analysis, this study suggested using literary students’ works that serve educational purposes, diversifying the subject, genre, appreciation of them, ensuring the opportunity to appreciate them and recognizing uniqueness of student authors.
