  • The International Journal of Production Research (IJPR), published since 1961, is a well-established, highly successful and leading journal reporting manufacturing, production and operations management research. IJPR is published 24 times a year and includes papers on innovation management, design of products, manufacturing processes, production and logistics systems. Production economics, the essential behaviour of production resources and systems as well as the complex decision problems that arise in design, management and control of production and logistics systems are considered. Manufacturing strategy, policy formulation and evaluation, and the contribution of new technologies are also major concerns of the journal. Fundamental techniques developed in computer, decision and mathematical sciences which can be used in the design, measurement or operation of production and logistics systems are also considered. The reputation of IJPR is based on a strong link with industrial applications. Convincing scientific results with clear real life applications are the principal criteria for the selection of papers. Didactic articles, presenting new and interesting production research problems or/and new applications are also welcome. The journal publishes also major advances in theory, as long as their main concepts and usefulness are clearly explained so that the production research community as a whole can understand them. A special place is reserved to surveys and discussion papers as well as invited articles presented by leading specialists. IJPR is a journal for researchers and professors in mechanical engineering, industrial and systems engineering, operations research and management science, and business. It is also an informative reference for industrial managers looking to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their production systems. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by at least three independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
