고려 우왕대 이인임 세력의 혼인이 인적관계에 미치는 영향

Abstract

정치세력에게 인적네트워크는 매우 중요하였다. 고려 우왕대 이인임 세력의 인적네트워크 형성과정에서 혼인은 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이인임의 본관은 성주로, 그의 가문은 선조인 이조년부터 정계에 진출하여 대대로 재상을 배출한 명문가문 중 하나이다. 이인임은 공민왕대에 음서로 관직에 진출하여 시중의 자리까지 올랐고, 공민왕이 시해되자 어린 우왕을 옹립하여 최영과 함께 정국을 운영하였다. 그는 우왕 원년〜6년까지 최영, 경복흥, 지윤, 임견미, 조민수, 양백연 등과 함께 반대세력을 제거하였다. 반대세력의 제거를 통해서 이인임, 최영, 경복흥, 지윤, 임견미, 양백연 등에서 이인임, 최영, 임견미, 염흥방, 조민수 등으로 세력 교체가 이루어졌고 그들의 관계가 더욱 단단해졌다. 이인임 세력은 혼인을 통하여 인적관계를 강화하였다. 이인임 세력의 혼인은 이인임 가문의 혼인, 이인임 세력들의 혼인, 이인임 세력 이외의 가문과의 혼인으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 이인임 가문의 혼인은 임견미, 권집경, 강서, 이성림, 하륜, 조민수, 이림, 이희필, 도길부 등이고, 이인임 세력들의 혼인은 염흥방, 우인렬, 변안렬 등 이며, 이인임 세력 외외의 가문과의 혼인은 최영, 지윤, 양백연, 목인길 등 이다. 이인임 세력은 이인임 가문과 그 세력 안에서 혼인을 통해 권력과 경제력을 강화하였다. 이인임 세력은 부인이 살아있는 경우에는 첩을 두었고, 이혼하거나 부인이 죽었을 경우에는 비슷한 가문 혹은 명문가문과 재혼 하였다. 그들은 재혼을 통해 폭넓은 인적관계를 형성하였고, 그들의 권력을 강화하였다. 이인임 세력의 혼인으로 이루어진 인적관계는 그들의 반대세력을 제거하는 과정에서 확실시 된다. 대체적으로 이인임 가문과 이인임 세력들의 혼인으로 이루어진 인물들은 우왕 14년 최영에 의해 이인임 세력이 제거될 때까지 정국 운영에 참여하여 활발한 활동을 하고 있다. 반면에 이인임 세력 이외의 가문과 혼인을 하였을 경우에는 이인임 세력과 대립하여 제거되고 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 이인임 세력에게 있어 혼인은 자신의 권력과 경제력을 강화시킬 수 있는 지름길이자 정치적 생명을 좌우할 수 있는 칼과 같은 것으로, 혼인은 그 만큼 중요하였다.

After they removing the opposition forces, their power group was changed from Lee In-im, Choi Young, Kyeong Bok-Heung, Ji Yoon, Im Gyeon-mi, Yang Baek-Yeon to Lee In-im, Choi Young, Im Gyeon-mi, Yeom Heung-bang, Jo Min-soo, and their relationship is stronger than ever. Lee In-im``s factions widened the Human network through marriage. Marriage of Lee In-im``s factions are classified as intermarriage between Lee In-im``s family, and Lee In im``s factions, and Non-Lee In-im``s factions. Intermarriage between Lee In-im``s family were Im Gyeon-mii, Gwonjingyeong, Lee Seong-Im, Ha Ryun, Cho Min-su, Ha Ryun, Jo Min-soo, Lee Im(Lee Hui-pil), Do Gil-Boo, etc. Intermarriage between Lee In-im``s factions were Yeom Heung-bang and so on. Intermarriage between Non-Lee In-im``s factions were Choi Young, Ji Yoon, Mok In-gil, and so on. Lee In-im``s factions was to strengthen the power and wealth through marriage in Lee In-im``s family & factions. Im Gyeon-mi & Do Gil-Boo is a representative man. Their family was not good. So Lee In-im``s family & factions raised the status of his family by marriage. His wife is more than two people in Lee In-im``s factions, Lee In-im, Lee In-min, Lee Jon-seong, Do Gil-Boo, Do Gil-bong, Yeom Je-sin, Yeom Heung-bang, Yeom Jeong-su, Ji Yoon, and so on. Whereas, Non-Lee In-im``s factions married people has been removed by conflict and Lee In-im``s factions. Lee In-im``s factions could strengthen their power and wealth but it could lose the political life in a day. Marriage was an important means to them. They used the marriage as a way to establish a political force, promote their friendly relations.
