《靑樓韻語》의 經文과 原註에 대한 譯解(2)

Abstract

본고는 《청루운어》 경문과 경문의 원주에 대해 우리말로 번역하고 주석을 가하면서 해설을 덧붙여, 《청루운어》의 전체 내용을 연구하는 데 도움으로 삼고자 하는 목적에서 작성되었다. 모두 4회에 걸쳐 번역 연구가 진행되고 있는데, 본고는 그 두 번째 작업에 해당한다. 본고의 내용은 기녀의 마음을 읽는 방법을 위주로 한다. 기녀를 만나면 어떻게 행동해야 그녀의 마음을 살 수 있는지에 대한 내용이 대부분이다. 기루를 출입하는 표객이 기녀의 사소한 말과 행동을 제대로 알아채지 못하면, 성공적으로 기녀의 마음을 사로잡을 수 없을 뿐 아니라, 그녀의 순정을 얻을 수 없다. 또 기루의 계책에 말려들지 않기 위해서는 기루의 일상적인 규칙을 미리 잘 파악해 둘 필요가 있는데, “꾀많은 사람은 오직 재미만을 보지만, 어리석은 손님은 칼끝을 다툰다.”고 한 것처럼, 기루에는 그물과 같이 짜인 계책이 숨겨져 있기 때문에 기녀들의 심리를 잘 알아차릴 필요가 있는 것이다. 한마디로 《청루운어》는 기루를 출입하는 표객에게 기녀의 마음을 어떻게 하면 사로잡을 수 있는지에 대해서 알려주는 지침서와 같은 기능을 한다. 본 연구팀은 현재 《청루운어》의 경문 및 원주에 대한 역주작업을 진행함과 동시에, 별도로 이와 관련된 개별 연구논문도 발표하고 있다. 본고의 목적은 바로 중국의 기녀 관련 연구의 토대를 마련하고, 그 당시의 사회 풍습 등을 엿볼 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 본 연구를 계기로 청루 및 기녀와 관련된 문헌 자료가 많이 소개되고, 명대의 청루문화를 비롯한 그 당시의 다양한 사회 풍습이 구체적으로 조명되기를 기대한다.

The text of 《QingLouYunYu(靑樓韻語)》 consists of the scripture 《PiaoJing(嫖經)》's sentences, the annotations and literary pieces. This study translates the sentences and annotations of the Ming(明) Wanli(萬曆) 44th year's edition 《QingLouYunYu(靑樓韻語)》 into korean, and makes explanatory notes on them. The translating works will continue four times successively, and this is the second result. This translation focuses on how to read jinü(妓女)’s mind. It is mostly about the way how the visitors of the brothel(靑樓) can get her mind when they meet her. If they can’t read her intention, though it seems very trivial in their words and deeds, they can not win her heart, and can not get her pure love as well. Not to fall into her snare, it’s necessary that they have to grasp the daily rules of brothels. For example, if she makes faces for any family affairs, it means that she wants their helps and aids. Although there have been a lot of researches on the ‘jinü(妓女)’ and brothel(靑樓) so far, it's very rare to illuminate concentrically the aspects of her real life through an actual document of 《QingLouYunYu(靑樓韻語)》. So this paper aims at laying a foundation for ‘jinü(妓女)’-related researches, and providing basic data to glimpse into the social customs of the time. In addition, it is expected that this paper would give some help to research the special terminology at brothel(靑樓) and colloquial language at the society of Ming Dynasty.
