- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the use of products for atopic dermatitis and satisfaction level among people who considered themselves to have atopic dermatitis and among their families in an effort to lay the foundation for research in products for atopic dermatitis.
32.9 percent made use of products for atopy to take care of their atopic dermatitis, and 24.8 percent thought it was effective. 75.0 percent had ever used products for atopy, and 24.2 percent purchased these products at Internet shopping malls. 32.1 percent gave priority to effects when they bought products for atopy. Their satisfaction level with products for atopy that they used was analyzed, and what they thought should be improved in these products was analyzed. As a result, 69.0 percent were satisfied with the effects of the products they used. They got a mean of 3.58 out of five in an intention to keep using the products, and they thought there was room for improvement in terms of their effects. 44.5 percent had ever used natural DIY products, and 70.1 percent were satisfied with the skin-improvement effects of these products. 88.7 percent had an intention to keep using the products.
Given the findings of the study, it's necessary to prove the effects of products for atopy, and the development of safe and reliable products is required. Successful marketing efforts are required as well, and how to convey information on atopy products over the Internet or smartphone apps should carefully be studied. Finally, the development of more reliable natural DIY products is necessary.
