Abstract
본 연구의 목적은 측정모형에 기초한 지능과 성격의 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 지능의 위계 모형을 추정하는 방법 중 일반요인에 기인한 변량 분리가 효과적으로 가능한 내재요인모형에서 추정한 지능 요인과 5요인 모형에서 추정한 성격 요인간의 상호 관련성을 분석하여, 결정지능이외에 성격과 관련된 지능 요인을 규명하고 개방성이외에 지능과 관련된 성격 요인을 밝히고자 한다. 이를 위해 고등학교 1학년 837명으로 지능검사와 성격검사를 실시하였다. 측정모형에 기초한 지능과 성격 요인의 상관분석 결과, 외향성과 결정지능, 친화성과 결정지능은 부적으로 관련되며, 성실성과 일반지능, 성실성과 수리지능, 개방성과 결정지능은 정적으로 관련되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 일반지능과 성격요인이 상호 관련되며, 성실성과 지능 요인이 상호 관련됨을 확인하였다. 이로써 결정지능이외에 성격요인과 관련된 지능요인은 일반지능이며, 개방성이외에 지능요인과 관련된 성격요인은 성실성임을 규명하였다.
The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between intelligence and personality, individual difference constructs. Most existing studies has focused on examining crystallized intelligence as distinguished by Cattell and the relationship between openness within the 5 factor model. Specifically, instead of estimating the relations between intelligence factors and personality factors, simply correlate personality scales with ability scales based on observed test scores. Results from studies that report intelligence-personality correlations based on observed scale scores are ambiguous because those observed test score reflect variance due to both g and other narrow abilities. For the reason, a clear understanding intelligence-personality relations required the variance due to g to be separated from the variance due to narrow abilities. Thus, it is needed to examine the relations intelligence-personality correlations based on latent variable analysis. In order to examine these questions, ability tests and personality scale were administered to 837 high school students. As a result of the factor analysis, ability tests consisted of three factors-gc, gq, gv and personality scale consisted of five factors-extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness. It was demonstrated that validity of factor structure of two construct. The result of correlation analysis based on measurement models, it were examined the correlation between extraversion and gc, agreeableness and gc, conscientiousness and g, conscientiousness and gq, openness and g, openness and gc. Specially, it were verified the relation of g and personality factors, conscientiousness and intelligence factors.
