- Abstract
- The purpose of this article is to reflect on the practices of play therapists and the continuously changing cultural contexts in which they work. Focusing on South Korea as a specific site and case study, this article presents examples of program adaptation and implementation for a specific type of therapy that utilizes play. Both historical and contemporary contexts are necessary in order to understand better the environments in which one practices therapy. This approach is relevant for both individual histories as well as broader sociocultural shifts. © 2008 Association for Play Therapy.
