국제광고 연구에 있어서의 감정주의-중립주의 문화차원 적용을 위한 탐색적 고찰

dc.description.abstract | 국제광고에 미치는, 혹은 그에 반영된 문화의 영향에 대해 과거 수많은 연구가 진행되었지만, 대부분의 논의가 Hall과 Hofstede와 같은 학자들에 의해 제시된 몇가지 문화차원들에 의존해 온 면이 있다. 이 같은 경향이 지속될 경우 국제광고 연구에 있어서의 합리적 추론과 논의의 범위가 제한될 것이라는 인식을 바탕으로, 본 연구는 근래 Trompennars와 Hampden-Turner에 의해 제시된 감정주의/중립주의 문화차원에 주목하고, 새로운 비교문화척도로서의 그 광고연구 활용 가능성을 탐색하였다. 총 3개국-한국, 미국, 일본-의 TV 광고물 791편이 내용분석되었고, 통계적 접근을 통해 가설의 타당성을 검증하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 한국과 일본광고의 감정주의/중립주의 문화차원에서의 차이가 분명하지 않은 가운데, 이들 두 나라의 광고물은 미국광고보다 중립주의 성향이 두드러진 (바꾸어 말하면, 미국광고가 한국이나 일본광고 보다 감정주의 성향이 강한) 것으로 드러났다. 이 같은 결과를 토대로 Trompennars와 Hampden-Turner가 제시한 문화차원의 예측력과 광고연구에의 적용성을 입증하였으며, 이에 기반해서 본 연구 결과의 이론적, 실용적 시사점을 논의하고, 차후 관련연구의 방향성을 제안하였다. | - |
