- Abstract
- Mesonic weak decay of Lambda-hypernuclei reveals many interesting aspects about the nuclear interior, such as the meson propagation deep inside the nucleus and possible modification oi the basic nuclear degree of freedom. Recently, new data on such phenomena have appeared through more accurate counter measurements. We have made a systematic study or the mesonic weak decay of very light Lambda-hypernuclei, adopting the independent-particle model with harmonic oscillator wavefunctions. For the s-shell nuclei, our simple treatment works well, even with the plane-wave approximation for the mesons.
