Abstract
PPAR is one of the significant drug targets and activation of PPAR □ by several thiazolidinedione derivatives is well established. Herein bioisosteric replacement of thiazolidinedione to urea was carried out. Non-thiazolidinedione derivatives, [4-(2-carbazol-9-ylethoxy)phenyl]ureas (5, 6) were designed and synthesized to obtain novel PPAR activators.
