Abstract
본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 그릿과 학업성취의 관계를 매개하는 요인으로써 학업열의의 역할을 탐색하고, 그릿이 학업성취에 미치는 영향에서 부모의 긍정양육태도의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원(NYPI)에서 수행한“한국아동·청소년패널조사 2018(KCYPS2018)”의 중학교 1학년 청소년(2,590명)패널 1차 년도 자료를 분석하였다. 그릿을 독립변수, 학업성취를 종속변수, 학업열의를 그릿과 학업성취 사이의 매개변수, 부모의 긍정양육태도를 그릿과 학업성취 사이의 조절변수로 투입하여 SPSS PROCESS macro의 모형 4번, 1번과 5번을 활용하여 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 변수간의 매개효과, 조절효과, 조건부 직접효과를 검증하였다. 그릿은 학업성취에 유의한 영향을 미치고, 이들 관계에 대한 학업열의의 매개효과가 유의했다. 그릿과 학업성취의 관계에서 부모의 긍정양육태도는 학업성취를 촉진하는 조절효과가 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 중학생의 학업성취를 촉진할 수 있는 비인지적 기제와 그 경로를 발견했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study was to explore the role of academic engagement as a mediating factor between grit and academic achievement in middle school students, and to verify the moderating effect of parents’ positive parenting attitude in the effect of grit on academic achievement. To this end, the data from the “Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018” conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute(NYPI) were analyzed. SPSS PROCESS macro model No. 4, No. 1 and No. 5 were used for analysis. Through this, the mediating effect, the moderating effect, and the conditional direct effect among the variables were verified. Grit had a significant effect on academic achievement, and the mediating effect of academic engagement on these relationships was significant. In the relationship between grit and academic achievement, parents’ positive parenting attitude showed a moderating effect to promote academic achievement. This study is significant in that it discovered non-cognitive mechanisms and pathways that can promote the academic achievement of middle school students.
