한국 대학생 대상의 다문화교육 연구 동향

Abstract

이 연구에서는 2010년부터 2019년 현재까지 한국연구재단의 등재지 및 등재후보지에 게재된 연구 중, 한국 대학생 대상의 다문화교육에 대한 49편의 연구에 대한 경향 및 특징을 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생 다문화교육 관련 연구는 2010년 이후 해마다 증감을 나타내다 2016년 가장 많이 이루어졌으며, 이후 대폭 감소였다. 둘째, 대학생 다문화교육에 관련한 연구들은 주로 다문화, 교육, 인문소양을 다루는 학술지에 주로 게재되지만, 비교적 다양한 영역의 학술지에서 고루 다루어지고 있었다. 셋째, 대학생 다문화교육 관련 연구 주제 중 교육 프로그램의 개발 및 효과를 검증하는 유형이 가장 많았다. 넷째, 대학생 다문화교육의 대상은 사범 계열 전공 학생뿐만 아니라 일반 학과를 전공하는 학생들을 대상으로 하려는 시도가 더욱 활발해진 것으로 검증되었다. 다섯째, 대학생 다문화교육의 내용 중 다문화에 대한 민감성, 감수성, 인식 증진 등을 다루는 지식 구성 관련 내용 또는 변인이 가장 빈번하게 다루어지고 있었다. 마지막으로 대학생 다문화교육의 접근 관점은 동화주의 관점과 다문화주의 관점의 빈도가 유사한 수준으로 검증되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 한국 대학생들을 대상으로 하는 다문화교육의 향후 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

This study analyzed research trends regarding the multicultural education of university students in Korea for 2010-2019. For this, a total of 49 papers were examined; the results are as follows. First, research on university students' multicultural education shows a year-on-year increase or decrease. The volume was largest in 2016, and has declined substantially since then. Second, studies on education have been published mostly in journals dealing with multiculturalism. Third, The main topic of interest in research is the type of testing and development of educational programs. Forth, the object of education is more important in the attempt to target students majoring in general subject as well as students majoring in education. Fifth, contents related to knowledge were most frequently handled in education. Finally, The approach taken was mainly identifiable with assimilative and multicultural viewpoints. Based on these results, we discussed the future direction of multicultural education for Korean university students.
