아이돌 팬 특권의식의 성차: 팬쉽, 관계 만족도, 관계유지의도와의 관계를 중심으로

Abstract

아이돌 육성 프로그램이 증가하고 아이돌이 실시간으로 팬들과 소통하게 되면서 팬은 아이돌에게 공적 영역을 넘어 특정한 태도를 유지할 것을 과도하게 요구하고 있 다. 본 연구는 팬의 성별과 아이돌의 성별에 따라 팬 특권의식이 다른 양상을 보이는 지, 팬쉽, 관계 만족도, 관계유지의도에 성차가 나타나는지, 그리고 팬쉽, 관계 만족도, 관계유지의도가 팬 특권의식과 어떤 관계를 맺는지 알아보았다. 연구결과, 남성 팬이 여성 팬에 비해 팬 특권의식을 높게 보고하였고, 남자 아이돌에 비해 여자 아이돌에 게 더 높은 특권의식이 발현되었으며, 여성 팬이 남성 팬에 비해 더 높은 팬쉽, 관계 만족도, 관계유지의도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 팬쉽은 팬 특권의식에 부적인 영향을, 관계 만족도는 팬 특권의식에 정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 관계유지의도는 팬 특권 의식에 아무런 영향도 미치지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 팬조차도 팬 활동 및 아이돌과 의 관계 맺기를 통해 아이돌에게 과도한 감정노동을 요구하게 될 수 있음을 시사하 며, 팬과 아이돌의 상호작용 방식에 대한 인식을 재고할 필요가 있음을 밝힌다.

As the ‘Idol Upbringing Program’ increases and the idol communicates with the fans in real time, the fans are overly demanding the idol to maintain a certain attitude beyond the public domain. The current study examined whether the fan entitlement is formed differently according to the gender of fans and the gender of idols, whether gender differences were found in the fanship, relationship satisfaction, and relationship maintenance intention experienced by fans, and how fanship, relationship satisfaction, and relationship maintenance intention are related to fan entitlement. Results showed the male fans reported a higher level of fan entitlement than female fans, the fan entitlement toward female idols were higher than male idols, and female fans experienced higher fanship, relationship satisfaction, and relationship maintenance intention than male fans. In addition, fanship had negative effects on fan entitlement, relationship satisfaction had a positive effect on fan entitlement, and relationship maintenance intention had no effect on fan entitlement. The study suggests that even fans may require excessive emotional labor based on fan activities and relationships with idols, and it is necessary to reconsider the perception of fan-idol interaction.
