- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to create a single parents education program that can be of help to single mothers and to verify the effect of the program. With this aim, training using the TREASURE Talk coaching model that can promote communication and interaction in a single parent family was given and the details of the Single Parent Family Support Act and support information necessary for effective parenting by single parents was taught. To verify the effect of the interaction training program, a total of 30 single parents were divided into an experimental group and a control group, and the Coaching Inventory Child-Adult Interaction Through Observation (CICAIO) and a pre-test were conducted for the two groups. After carrying out a total of 6 hours of training with the experimental group, training was undertaken for 21 days in the families in accordance with the education-training system of the TREASURE Talk coaching model. Two weeks after the 21st day, the same scales as those of the pre-test were applied to the experimental group and the control group through a post-test, and the effect of the test was analyzed through a paired t-test.
The results showed that the average score of the post-test of the experimental group was higher than the average score of the pre-test, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). Consequently, from theoretical, methodological, and practical perspectives, training using the TREASURE Talk coaching model in accordance with a coaching approach was discovered to promote positive interaction between a single parent and her child.
