- Abstract
- 이 논문은 서해 5도(백령도, 대청도, 연평도) 지역에서 진행되었거나 진행 중인 민속의료의 현황을 정리하고 지리적 생태적, 문화적 특징에 따라 분석하였다. 민속의료는 한 사회의 구성원들이 질병 및 질환에 대처하기 위해 생활 속의 실천을 통해 전승하여 온 예방 및 치료체계로, 이 글에서는 약물적, 물리적, 주술적 요법으로 구분하였다. 서해 5도 지역은 기독교의 이른 유입으로 인하여 주술적 요법의 수는 다른 두 요법에 비해 수가 적다. 이 글에서는 지역에서 빈번하게 발생하는 질환을 정리 및 분석하고, 동일한 질환에 대하여 육지와 다른 방법으로 진행되는 치료법 및 재료를 정리하였다. 마지막으로 해당 지역에서 민속의료 지식의 특징에 대하여 서술하였다.
