Abstract
This research aims to define the relation between university students' creative dance activity and their satisfaction over creative dance and provide basic data for effective creative dance education. Subjects were comprised of 186 university students who majored in dance in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. A questionnaire was used as a measurement tool in this study, and consisted of five questions about personal characteristics, six questions about educational satisfaction over creative dance activity, five questions about social satisfaction, three questions about physiological satisfaction, and six environmental satisfaction, totaling 25.Data analysis was conducted using the statistical program SPSS 12.0 for Window. The applied analytical methods included frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-test and one way ANOVA. The research thus reached the following conclusions.First, by gender, females showed higher educational satisfaction than males, while males had higher levels of social, environmental, and physiological satisfaction than females.Second, by school year, the fourth-graders showed the highest levels of educational, social, physiological, and environmental satisfaction. Third, by experience, students with under 5-6 years of experience showed the highest levels of environmental satisfaction, and students with under 3-4 years of experience had the highest levels of educational, social and physiological satisfaction.Fourth, by frequency of creative dance activity, those who had seven sessions a week showed the highest levels of educational, social, physiological, and environmental satisfaction.Fifth, by intensity of creative dance activity, those who had over four hours of training showed the highest levels of educational, social, physiological, and environmental satisfaction. Sixth, satisfaction over creative dance activity that had the greatest impact on cognitive involvement and behavioral involvement was found to be educational satisfaction.
