The purpose of this study is to analyze the current condition of teaching Korean language and its materials for migrant workers who might be considered as the great number of the learners for learning Korean language. The present study will be the basic foundation for the good education, which has been hardly concerned in Korean educational society, and help to develop their Korean language proficiency that could solve migrant labor's troubles experiencing in Korea..To achieve this purpose, these steps are as follow. Considering the vocational goals, in the Chapter 2 the other current studies are evaluated in related with the education of Korean language. In the Chapter 3: The concepts of both migrant workers and the system of permission to hire them are defined, and then this study will examine about how the Korean language education has been conducted in our society. It assesses that needs of them to learn Korean language have been met through the analysis of the materials. Then this study tries to make up for the weak point of the existing textbooks and provides the real model from consisting of units at Chapter 4. Chapter 5 concludes about above discussion thoroughly. As a result, the implication an significance of the current study are that it prompted reasons for developing high quality education for migrant workers that go beyond language. We accomplished this through discussing specific Korean language educational paradigms for migrant workers who have been excluded in our general educational system for so long.Therefore this study is based on researching the frame in teaching Korean language and gives the effective suggestion in the future by analyzing of the current educational state and materials.(Sookmyung Women's University)
