- Abstract
- 본 연구는 우리나라 유치원에 관한 정책수립 및 의사결정에 도움이 될 수 있는 기초적인 자료를 파악할 목적으로 유치원의 취원 및 행·재정적 지원 현황과 유치원 교육과정의 운영 실태를 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 교육인적자원부 발행 유아교육 관련자료, 16개 시도교육청 자체평가 보고서, 연도별 유치원 현황, 각종 관련 논문 등을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유치원 수에 있어서는 공립 유치원이 많았으나 학급 수, 원아 수는 여전히 사립유치원의 의존도가 높았고, 유치원 취원율은 OECD 국가들에 비하여 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 행정적 지원 측면에서 비전공 유아교육 담당 장학사 비율이 높고 독립성이 미흡하였으나 다양한 장학지도 유형을 개발 적용하고 있었으며, 유아교육 재정적 지원 측면에서도 OECD 국가들에 비하여 매우 저조하였다. 셋째, 유치원 교육과정의 운영 측면에서 볼 때 각 시도교육청에서는 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있었으며, 수준별 교육과정의 운영정도는 보통 수준으로 파악되었다.
