- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to develop a leadership program for 5-year-old children to help them prepare fortheir entrance to elementary school and enhance their ability to adjust themselves to it after entrance. Prior toprogram development, the study developed a leadership fairy tale and computer media program to stimulate theinterests and concentration level of children. In order to verify the effects of the leadership program, twoexperimental groups and a control group were established and pre-test, post-test, and first and second follow-uptests were performed. In order to verify the goodness of the fit of the model, path analysis was performed.
Thirty three 5-year-old children from four classes at four childcare centers in Seoul were assigned to theexperimental and control groups. The study proposed a theoretical foundation for the leadership program using aleadership fairy tale and educational computer media. 3 leadership fairy tales were developed based on 4leadership tales specified by Lee(2012) and the education media using computer were jointly developed with theresearchers of Korea Young Leadership Center. Thus the study was meaningful because it providedvariouspractical programs for improving leadership and adjustment to elementary school by using fairy tales andcomputer media appropriate for 5-year-old children.
