Abstract
This study aims to understand the mother's experiences and to explore how she understands andlearns from premature termination of her teenaged daughter's counseling using a qualitative researchmethodology. For these purposes, the mother was interviewed, and she looked back on difficult timeswhen her daughter entered into adolescence, went through the counseling processes to solve theirproblems in relationship, gained insights from premature termination and on how the terminationaffected her life and daughter's development. The data were analyzed using the procedure ofNarrative Process Coding(Augus & Hardke, 1994). The results are as follows: ‘the peak of crisisbetween mother-child relationship’, ‘intolerance of the counseling progress’, ‘realizing her mistakes asa mother in depth’, ‘to accept that daughter's experiences as they were’. The mother realizedinsights of their relationship through the process of teenaged daughter's early terminated counselingwith three perspectives: ‘time to start a meaningful relationship with daughter’, ‘space containing therelationship’, ‘becoming a better relationship’.
