- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of participating in pilates on the health-related physical fitness, and obesity level, in college females to provide the basic information for health promotion and improvement of physical fitness in college females.
20 college females were randomly selected for this study. Health-related physical fitness was determined by measuring back strength, sit-up, trunk flexion, step-test and body composition. Analysis of Covariance were applied for the statistical analysis using SPSS 12.0.
It is found that there are significant difference in back strength, trunk flexion, and between 2 group after 12 weeks' pilates programs.
As a result, it is found that 12 weeks' pilates programs of college females is partially effective to health related physical fitness, but has no effect to obesity level.
