Abstract
This study is performed to investigate the possibility of utilizing bamboo knit treated with monazite as a sliver fashion material or environment-friendly healthy functional material by comparing comfort and functionality. As a result, the ratio of weight per unit area to thickness (W/T) and the ratio of compression energy to the weight per unit area (WC/W) tend to decrease by monazite treatment. As bamboo knit gets compact by monazite treatment, it tends to decrease air permeability, heat conductivity and thermal retaining property. Also, water absorption, water vapor transmission and deodorization get decreased as the amount of monazite increases. Bamboo knit with monazite treatment is considered to have a potential as healthy functional material by increasing the emissivity of anion and far-infrared radiation.
