- Abstract
- The objective of this study is to explore the determinants of college graduates' entrepreneurships and provide implications for promoting entrepreneurship among young adults who graduate from college. Our binomial logistic regression analysis using data from the Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) reveals that young adults are more likely to start their own business when their families provide financial support. Graduates in arts and physical education showed a high possibility of self-employment compared to those from liberal arts. Considering the factors affecting the choice between employment and entrepreneurship, the results show that work experience in college positively affects the idea of starting a new business. Therefore, this study suggests initiatives to nurture young entrepreneurs and directions for policy. © 2016 International Information Institute.
