그라이스의 협력원칙에 기반한 대화적 토론기법

Abstract

토론을 하나의 대화라는 관점으로 접근한다면, 협력성은 가장 필수적인 소양중 하나이다. 무엇인가를 함께 만들어간다는 대화의 속성을 위해 상호 협력해야하기 때문이다. 즉 대화적 토론을 위해서는 협력성을 다지는 언어기법들이 요구된다. 이와 관련하여 그라이스의 협력원칙은 토론에서 협력성을 반영하는 데 활용될수 있다. 그라이스는 양, 질, 관계, 태도의 대화격률을 통해서 원활한 의사소통을 위해 지켜야 하는 원칙들을 제시한다. 구체적으로 정보의 양과 질, 정보간의연계성 그리고 정보전달의 방식에 대해서 누구나 지켜야 할 대화의 협력성 원칙들을 제안한다. 본고는 이런 원칙에 입각하여 몇몇 토론기법들을 제안했으며 다양한 사례의 분석을 통해서 설명하였다. 본 연구결과는 토론에서의 협력성을 추구하는 이론적토대가 될 수 있다.

Debate is regarded as a type of dialog that needs the cooperation of interlocutors to reach a dialogical goal. Thus, debate should include the cooperation of interlocutors as its mayor factor. In this context, the cooperative Principle of Grice can give a theoretical ground that shows the cooperation of debate. As already well known, Grice demonstrated different maxims of dialog that are related to quantity, quality of messages, their relationship and delivery methods. He regarded these maxims as principles that should be observed to ensure the smooth progress of dialog. They are oriented to the cooperation of dialog, can be applied to dialog. Thus, I have drawn some principles of the dialogical debate through it. Even if they are only a draft, I think that they played a role for the construction of the theoretical ground of dialogical debate.
