The major findings of this study represented that elementary teachers have a great understanding about the importance of nature and social life, earth and environmental problems, global warming, energy crisis in future life related environmental education and green growth. In addition, there were the differences among grades in the necessity of curriculum and contents of environmental education. Teachers in lower classes recognize that foundational environmental education for younger students has to focus on ecosystem, environmental preservation, water and air pollution etc. However, teachers in upper classes consider that curriculum for middle and late elementary students need to be formed various alternative energy development, global energy crisis, and environmental ethics based on experience and case centered education. It is very critical for elementary students to have environmental consciousness and a sense of responsibility in everyday school life. Therefore, curriculum of elementary environmental education should be developed toward strengthening of environmental awareness and emphasizing the coexistence of human and nature related green growth.
